Mainland China and Hong Kong have substantially completed a new round of revision consultations on the CEPA service trade agreement

Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, together with relevant departments and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, jointly held the third senior officials' meeting of the Joint Steering Committee of the "Arrangement on Establishing Closer Economic and Trade Relations" (CEPA), and substantially completed a new round of revision consultations on the CEPA service trade agreement between the mainland and Hong Kong. The two sides agreed to speed up the relevant technical preparations and fulfill the approval procedures to sign and implement the agreement as soon as possible.
Since the implementation of CEPA, the mainland and Hong Kong have fully achieved liberalization in the field of goods trade, basically achieved liberalization in the field of service trade, and established a systematic and diversified guarantee system in the field of investment. The new round of revisions to the CEPA service trade agreement will further deepen the opening and cooperation of the mainland and Hong Kong in service trade, help Hong Kong develop from governance to prosperity, and help the country's high-level institutional opening.
